GDL uses natural composting methods to stabilise our bark products, thereby minimising nitrogen drawdown from plants and promoting healthy green foliage and vigorous growth. Rather than using chemicals to accelerate this process, we take pride in offering products that are eco-friendly.
Our raw materials come from sustainable pinus radiata forests in New Zealand's North Island. Our aged sawdust is locally sourced from the South Waikato.
After testing our organic base products, we worked closely with scientists to create a special mix of eco-friendly fertiliser and nutrients to create the perfect symbiotic growing environment. To boost our Growers Compost and Garden Mix, we add organic sterilised sheep pellets and utilise our own naturally composted, nitrogen-stabilised premium organic bark fines. The fertiliser, nutrients and trace elements utilised have been specially formulated for OrganicGold Growing Media™, are eco-friendly, sustainable, and environmentally responsible, utilising natural polymer coatings for sustained release (3-12 months), and BioGro and Fertmark Registered products. And to top it all off, our premium organic bark fines, due to their quality and composition, actively encourage the growth and activity of mycorrhizal fungi. This, in turn, leads to a healthy plant-soil symbiosis, where plants can better absorb nutrients and water, and leads to improved growth and resilience.
